Let’s learn more about whale movements, or migrations, throughout the world’s oceans.
To get started, you’re invited to print out this world map with some information about migration patterns and breeding grounds of humpback whales.
Grab a marker, pen, or crayon and trace along the routes humpbacks use during their migrations. Here are a few reasons these whales migrate:
- In the summer, humpback whales move to cooler waters to find food.
- In the winter, the same whales find warmer waters to have their babies.
