To do: Visit an observatory or space center
Time: 1 hour
Materials: Local museum
__

Space centers and observatories make big impressions on young children. They are typically very visually appealing and have some interesting methods for teaching children about space.

For example, some observatories inflate a giant indoor night sky, with a guide to show you constellations. Others allow you to use a high-powered telescope!

Do a little digging to find your closest space center and plan a family trip. You never know, your child might take a trip to space one day.
