Exercise the imagination today to draw scenes from a story, favorite book, or real life!
First, pick a book or story you all enjoy. It can be fiction from a favorite book or movie, or a real life story of an event that happened in your life.
Next, grab art supplies and draw the story. Remember that your young child is still developing fine motor skills, so the drawings don’t need to be accurate! The fun is in the experience of drawing together.
Finally, for older children, ask them to write and illustrate a short book! Sit down and discuss who your characters are, where the story is set, and what’s going to happen. This is good logical thinking practice.
