To do: Create a playlist with your child to listen to at home or on a roadtrip.
Time: 30 minutes
Materials: A list of songs to let your child choose from.
__
Spend 30 minutes with your child creating a playlist, just for them.
First, go through your music to gather around 15-20 songs before you sit down with your child. Then sit down and play snippets of each song for your child.
Tell them that you would like to make a music CD or list of songs for you to listen to together in the car or at home!
For each song, ask them to give you a thumbs up or thumbs down. “Does it make the list?!” Together, you can create a digital playlist that’s just for you and your child.
For the older child, create a larger list of 30-40 songs that you know are appropriate for them, but of diverse genres. Let your older child step their way through the list at their own pace, asking them to chose 15-20 songs that the like the most to make a playlist of their own!
