There are some great books out there about stars and the night sky for children, and we have some suggestions to get you started. Ask your local librarian for their suggestions as well!
“The Big Dipper” by Franklyn M. Branley is part of the “Let’s Read and Find Out” series, and helps young children locate the easy-to-find Big Dipper! Try to find it tonight with your children.
“How to Catch a Star” by Oliver Jeffers is becoming a new classic for young explorers. One boy thinks a star from the sky would be a great playmate, but can he catch one?
“Zoo in the Sky: A Book of Animal Constellations” by Jacqueline Mitton is a National Geographic prizewinner. Follow along with the shimmering outlines of constellations like Little Bear and the Great Bear in this gorgeous introduction.
